Exciting New Business Summit Workshop

Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a business workshop on Thursday, March 21st, from 4 P.M. until 6 P.M. at The Flanders Hotel located at 719 East 11th Street in Ocean City, NJ.

The workshop will provide business owners with important information that they can begin implementing immediately to improve their business. Topics being covered are:

Developing a Winning Business Plan and What to do Next, Financing Outside the Box for New AND Existing Businesses, Real World Scenarios, How to Cut Through the Red Tape, Marketing Your Business in a Digital World, OC’s New Cashless Payment System, and Available Programs to Help Your Business. Downtown Gillian’s Opens on Asbury Avenue in Ocean City, NJ

Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce was honored to hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for Downtown Gillian’s in Ocean City, NJ.

The new location offers guests the opportunity to purchase holiday gifts and discounted ride tickets in downtown Ocean City. They offer Gillian’s Wonderland Pier t-shirts, long sleeve t-shirts, sweatshirts, beanie hats, baseball hats, stuffed Wonder Bears, Wonder Bear bobble heads, and the ever popular half price tickets. Need a quick gift? They have prepared gift baskets in different sizes to fit all your gift giving needs! Not sure what to get? The Gillian’s Wonderland Gift Cards are good for anywhere in the park including 6th Street Pizza!

“We are excited to be back on Asbury Avenue and on the Boardwalk as we begin celebrating 90 years in business. We appreciate the support of the community and our guests for being our patrons through the years. We hope our team has provided many happy experiences and memories for everyone’s families,” said Mayor Gillian.

Downtown Gillian’s is open seven days a week. Monday through Saturday they are open from 10am until 5pm and 10am-4pm on Sundays. This year, half price ride tickets may also be purchased at Shriver’s at 9th and Boardwalk.

Jon & Patty Talese Named Citizens of the Year by OC Chamber

The Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce is honored to announce the recipients of the Chamber’s 2018 Citizen of the Year Award and Outstanding Business and Beautification Awards.  The awards will be presented at the Chamber’s dinner Tuesday, November 13th at The Flanders Hotel.
This year, the Citizen of the Year Award will be presented to Jon and Patty Talese. The Talese Family is a longtime Ocean City family that has given back to the community for generations. The entire Talese Family works in their business Jon & Patty's.
Jon and Patty are owners of Jon & Patty’s Coffee Bar and Bistro located at 637 Asbury Avenue in Ocean City, NJ. They are currently celebrating their 10th year in business. They opened in 2008 and were the recipient of Outstanding New Business. In 2016, they renovated their building, adding a second story dining room earning them Outstanding Business Renovation. They continually invest in the Ocean City community.

XANADU, described as “Heaven on Wheels” by The New York Times, is based on the Universal Pictures’ cult classic movie of the same title, which starred Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly.  XANADU was nominated for the 2008 Tony Award® for Best Musical.

Custom Framing and Art Professionally Designed

Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce was honored to hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for Ocean City’s new custom framer SaltWorks Studio.

Owners Kristin and Chad Gallagher were surrounded by many of the special contributors who helped them get their business off the ground, as their daughters, Brynn (10) and Mia (12), did the honors of cutting the ribbon in front of their studio located at 844 Central Avenue in Ocean City.

SaltWorks Studio specializes in custom framing, mat and glass cutting, mounting and fitting, and interior design framing projects for both the home and office. They also offer unique gifts and local art.  Additionally, SaltWorks offers walk-in service for turning a digital jpeg file into a timeless masterpiece that can be done as a painting, or on canvas, metal or acrylic.  Their studio is showcasing great examples of what they can do with images produced from a simple smartphone or memory stick.

New owner Kelly Herbst, who was a longtime employee of C. Melini, purchased the salon from original owner, Carlo Melini. Herbst along with her employees, friends and family, cut the ribbon at C. Melini Hair Salon in Ocean City.

Ocean City Wins New Jersey’s Favorite Beach Contest Again in 2018!

For the fifth consecutive year, beachgoers chose Ocean City as "New Jersey's Favorite Beach" in a statewide poll.

Representatives of the N.J. Sea Grant Consortium announced the winners of the annual contest in a presentation on the Ocean City Music Pier on Friday afternoon.

The New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium introduced the survey in 2008 to “inspire pride in and stewardship of New Jersey’s beaches while promoting a little healthy competition between New Jersey’s favorite beach towns.”

New Exciting Adventures Await You on Ocean City Boardwalk

Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce was honored to hold ribbon cutting ceremonies for three new Ocean City businesses.

Brothers Justice and Josh Bolz cut the ribbon at their new exciting adventures on the Boardwalk. The brothers opened Liberty Escape Rooms, Liberty Virtual Reality, and Hot Air Balloon Adventures.

Liberty Escape Rooms is a 30 minute, immersive experience in which 2-10 players enter an alternate reality with the task of solving codes, clues and puzzles to achieve the ultimate objective before time runs out! At their 11th Street location there are three adventures offered; Lost Temple, Wild Wild West, and Space Invasion. Whether it’s a rainy day or you are looking for something to do before dinner with your family, this is a great bonding activity for everyone.
