Last Minute Reminder: Ocean City's 101st Baby Parade is set for Aug 12 starting 10:15 a.m. from 6th to 12th on the Boardwalk. Children from infants to ten years of age will be paraded in decorated strollers, carriages and floats. There will be bands, commercial floats. Ocean City's Peaches Lukens, who has been active in charitable events, animal and environmental causes for years, will be grand marshal.

A Twins Contest follows the Baby Parade starting 6:30 p.m. in front of the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace, with registration at 6 p.m. Entry is free and there will be prizes for those who look the most and least alike. Twins will compete in various age groups from infants to adults. For information, call 609-525-9300.

August 12th: 7:00 - Ocean City Historical Museum, Thursday Nights at the Museum. Simon Lake's Submarine Legacy & his inventive nature with Bill Jenkins. Hear stories about submarine development from the Civil War era CSS Hunley to the Argonaut submarine legacy of Ocean City's Simon Lake. The Miss Ocean City Pageant, sponsored by the Ocean City Exchange Club, is set for 8 p.m. Sat., Aug. 14 at the Music Pier. Tickets are $15 at the door. There will be 28 contestants so it should be quite a show. Presiding over the Pageant and crowning her successor will be Dana Piccoli, the present Miss Ocean City. She will be presented an Ocean City Piece of the Walk in recognition of her outstanding reign.

Wacky But Not Tacky has been and always will be the theme of Weird Contest Week set for Aug. 16-20 at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. One contest is held daily, Monday through Friday, starting at 11 a.m. Entry is free with categories for age groups 5 and under, 6-8, 9-12, teens and adults. Prizes are awarded. Aug. 15: The Ocean City Pops presents Philadelphia Orchestra Concertmaster and violin virtuoso, David Kim, in a recital 8 p.m. at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. Aug. 16:B.J. Thomas will perform 8 p.m. at the Music Pier in a Stockton State College Monday Night special. He will sing his greatest hits, Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head and the million selling.... Aug. 17-18-19, The Ocean City Pops presents You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, an Ocean City Theatre Company/Pops Production directed by the talented Michael Hartman. The show is set for the Hughes Performing Art Center, 6th and Atlantic Ave., at 7:30 p.m. and is sponsored by Gillian's Wonderland Pier. Tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for children. Aug. 18: There will be a book signing by Fred and Susan Miller at Sun Rose Words and Music, 756 Asbury Ave., from 6 to 8 p.m. They will sign their popular Ocean City History and Postcards books.

Aug. 18: Wednesday is for Kids at the Ocean City Historical Museum, 17th and Simpson Ave. Families are invited to drop in for a 45 minute mini tour and art making activity at 10:30, 11:30 and 1:00. $3 per child. Every Thurs., the Museum presents "Look, Listen, Learn at 7 p.m., admission free.

On Aug. 19, the Museum will feature Cape May County Clerk, Rita Fulginiti. Call 609-399-1801.

The Ocean City Arts Center, 609-399-7628 and Ocean City Library 609-399-2434 located in the same facility as the Museum, schedule many activities that entertain and enlighten. Most are free. Call for information.

Aug. 20: The Little Miss Ocean City Pageant is set for 7 p.m. at the Music Pier. Tickets are $10 at the Music Pier Box Office. The scholarship pageant is for girls ages 8-11. Registration is over for this year. Call 609-525-9304 for information.

Family Film Night is held every Tues., through August, at 810 Asbury Ave., sponsored by the Stainton's Education and Activities Center in the Cornerstone Church facilities. Aug. 17 is The Muppet Movie and Aug. 24 Escape to Witch Mountain. Tickets are $4.50 per person and include pizza, popcorn and soft drink plus movie. Proceeds benefit community people and programs.

Ocean City Farmer's and Crafter's Market begins Wednesday, June 30th and runs every Wednesday through August from 8am-1pm at 6th and Asbury. Jersey Fresh produce and hand made crafts.

Wednesdays for Kids at the Ocean City Museum , a fun, half-hour program including a mini-tour and art-making activity at 10:30, 11:30, or 1:00. The program is recommended for children ages 4 to 9 years old. Younger and older siblings are welcomed. Cost is $3/per person. No registration required. For more information call 609.399.1801. The Museum is located in the Community Center, 1735 Simpson Avenue, Ocean City.

Historic Inn-to-Inn Tours begin Thursday, July 1st and run every Thursday through August. Tours begin at 2pm. Tickets are $13 per person. Trolley boards at the ticket booth at the corner of 7th and Central Ave beginning at 1:30pm. Tickets may be pre-purchased at the Ocean City Welcome Center at 16 East 9th Street.

Boardwalk Family Nights - fun for the whole family with bands, magicians, karaoke, and much more, 6th-14th on Boardwalk, 7:30-9:30pm.
